Christy, whose course is the lower of the two and situated mostly on the water plain, plans to create a Moorish atmosphere on some of the fairways and greens, to reflect local history, and provide orange groves to fit in with the area's rich reputation for producing that particular fruit.
He explained: 'I wanted one hole where it was just oranges---the whole of this part of the Algarve is blessed with thousands of acres of orange groves and I wanted to bring some inside the course as well.
