More info... Day 1: San Jose, Costa Rica, Arrival Our representative will meet you at the international airport and will take you to your hotel in San Jose. You can take advantage of your driver and ask him any question you may have about your services. Overnight at Alta hotel.
Day 2: San Jose After breakfast, we will meet and take you to Valle del Sol golf course. One green fee per person is included (cart and caddie are not included). In 1994 the architect Tracy May came to re-design and build a new course. The results were an outstanding 18 hole championship golf course, with the assistance of the on-site construction supervisor Mark Dinan, has designed the layout to be challenging and fair under most conditions, and downright tough when the winds come swirling down from the surrounding mountains. The layout is diverse and requires the use of all the clubs in your bag. The rolling hills, mature trees that were part of the original course and the surrounding mountains create a great setting for golf. After the game, transfer back to the hotel. Free afternoon to relax at the hotel or to explore the area on your own. Overnight at Alta hotel. Breakfast.
Day 3: San Jose - Pinilla After breakfast, you will be met by our representative, who will take you to Pinilla. The northern pacific region is a land of beautiful landscapes made up of bays, gulfs, hills, cliffs, panoramic routes, volcanoes, wild rivers, and beaches. The climate is hot and dry during the summer (from December to April) and hot and humid during the rest of the year. Free afternoon to explore the area on your own or to play golf as an optional activity. Overnight at Hacienda Pinilla hotel. Breakfast.
Day 4: Pinilla After breakfast, enjoy the morning playing golf at Pinilla golf course. One green fee per person is included, cart and caddie are not included. This newly created 18 hole championship links style layout was completed in February of 2001. Mike Young designed the course on what used to be a working cattle ranch.
The course is a coastal layout with wide, open fairways and the prevailing winds come into play on just about every hole. The bump and run is recommended for most approach shots as the greens are hard and fast. A truly distinguishing characteristic of Hacienda Pinilla is the many well-placed pot bunkers that are cleverly placed around most greens. It is challenging, and will reward conservative play more often than not. Carts are mandatory. Free afternoon to relax or to play golf as an optional activity. Overnight at Hacienda Pinilla hotel. Breakfast.
Day 5: Pinilla After breakfast, enjoy another round of golf at Pinilla golf course. One green fee per person is included, cart and caddie are not included. Free afternoon to relax or to play golf as an optional activity. Overnight at Hacienda Pinilla hotel. Breakfast.
Day 6: Pinilla, Arenal. After breakfast, we will take you to Arenal. This area offers a landscape composed by forests, lagoons, fields of crops, rivers with hot springs, and the most active volcano of Costa Rica: Arenal. Definitely a land of contrasts full of varied activity options. Afternoon arrival to the hotel. Free afternoon to explore the area on your own, relax at the hotel or take optional tours like horseback riding, hiking tour or hanging brides tour. Overnight at Volcano Lodge. Breakfast.
Day 7: Arenal After breakfast, take advantage of your free morning to relax at the hotel or take an optional activity: river rafting, horseback riding, aerial tram tour or hanging bridges tour. In the afternoon, a local bilingual tour guide will take you on a tour to Arenal Volcano and Tabacon hot springs. See from up close the volcanic activity of the great colossus, its constant emissions of gases, and vapors of water. Follow this with a fabulous and healthful bath in the Tabacon hot springs and a buffet dinner at Ave del Paraiso restaurant, as part of your tour. Overnight at Volcano lodge. Breakfast, dinner.
Day 8: Arenal, San Jose. After breakfast, enjoy the free morning relaxing at the hotel or take an optional activity. In the afternoon we will take you from Arenal back to San Jose. Overnight at Ramada Plaza Herradura hotel.
Day 9: San Jose After breakfast, we will take you to Cariari country club for you to play golf. Situated on a property that was once a coffee plantation, this golf course was designed by architect George Fazio and built by his now famous nephew, Tom Fazio. This par 71 course measures 6,590 yards from the Championship tees, but plays much longer. The course is heavily wooded, the fairways are narrow with few fairway bunkers, and the greens tend to be on the large side with sand traps throughout.
